  Feburary 2010

 Sterling will be presenting at the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) World Forum and Symposium - June 19-22, 2010 in Boston.  Our focus area will be on cold chain management.  The conference website is http://www.ifama.org.

January 2010

  • Performed a 3PL selection project for a nationally recognized confectionary company.
  • Sterling partner Nick Pacitti will be presenting at Georgia Tech's upcoming 2010 Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference - March 4-5, 2010 at the GTRI Conference Center in Atlanta.  The conference website is http://scl.gatech.edu/humlog2010.

  • Completed a cold chain assessment project for a major East Coast-based beverage supplier.
  • Awarded a cold chain improvement study for a major grocery chain based in the Northeast.

September 2009

  • Conducted a freight assessment for an automotive aftermarket supplier.
  • Performed a distribution network analysis review and update for a major North American tire distributor.

 August 2009

  • Awarded a cold chain assessment project with a major East Coast-based beverage supplier.
  • Sterling partners Nick Pacitti and David Sterling chaired the Cold Chain Management for Food & Beverage Conference in Chicago on August 5th and 6th.  This conference attracted cold chain professionals from companies involved in Food Manufacturing, Processing, Grocery, Food Service, Restaurants and distribution from throughout the U.S.
  • Sterling Solutions is featured in an article in Food Logistics Magazine regarding work done in cold chain management.

July 2009

  • Performed a procurement assessment for an automotive aftermarket distributor.
  • Completed a distribution network optimization project for a Midwest-based confectionary company.
  • Two of Sterling Solutions clients have been awarded a top food logistics innovator award and the Golden Pallet Award.  Wawa Food Market, a long standing client with Sterling has been awarded the Top Food Logistics Innovator Award 2009 for their research and application of cold chain methodology that was partly developed by Sterling.  McLane New Jersey was awarded the Golden Pallet Award for their highly efficient approach to multi-temperature distribution.
  • Sterling partners Nick Pacitti and David Sterling will be presenting at Cold Chain Management for Food & Beverage Conference - Ensuring a safe and secure "Farm to Fork" Supply Chain for Temperature Sensitive Consumable Products.  The conference will be held August 5-6 at the Hyatt McCormack Place in Chicago.  The conference web site is  http://www.iqpc.com/us/ccfb.
  • Sterling will also be featured in Food Logistics Magazine's The Cold Chain Report to be published in August

  • Performed Demand Planning Assessment for a building supply manufacturing distribution company.
  • Completed a Cold Chain Assessment for a mid-west convenience store chain.
  • Awarded a Cold Chain Assessment project for a major east-coast convenience store chain.
  • Completed a white paper on Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Strategy.
May 2009
  • Wawa Food Markets, a long term client has been awarded the Food Logistics Innovator award due to its far reaching leadership in cold chain management.  Sterling played and continues to play a major role in developing Wawa's cold chain capabilities.  Look in the June edition of Food Logistics Magazine for the feature article.
April 2009 - Sterling has been awarded an optimization project with a global confectionery manufacturer improving its NA distribution operations.
February 2009 - Sterling Solutions has completed the process of becoming a registered Government Contractor.
March 2008 - May 2009 - Sterling Solutions co-chairs the SQF Food Logistics Technical Advisory Committee.  Through the food logistics committee and its members, Sterling is structuring guidance for safe quality food practices in the logistics industry.  This is done in response to advances in science and technology, the needs of the food industry and to changes in the food regulations.
